- Peripheral IV catheters
- Central venous catheters
- Access port catheters
- Arterial catheters
- Peripherally Inserted Coronary Catheters (PIC)
- Dialysis catheters
- Epidural catheters
- Suprapubic catheters
- Chest tubes
- Gastronomy feeding tubes
- External fixator pins
What is Zonex®?
Zonex® is an antimicrobial dressing designed to be placed around the exit site of vascular and non-vascular Percutaneous Medical Devices (PMDs). Composed of polyurethane foam, onto which is layered an ionic silver alginate matrix, Zonex® is indicated for use.3
Zonex® is intended to reduce local infections, catheter related blood stream infections (CRBSIs), and skin colonisation of microorganisms commonly related to CRBSIs.3
Silver, as used in the Zonex® dressing has been shown to be effective against a broad spectrum of disease causing organisms.4
Silver-impregnated surface of the dressing prevents bacterial growth while the foam surface of the dressing absorbs the moisture and secretions from the catheter exit site.5
